You can tell I've rewritten this a book a million times by the fact that I'm not even trying with the name situation anymore, lmao

I had paid work available for the first time in an eternity, so I did that for a good hour and a half or so. I was hoping to get some writing done tonight too, but I'm absolutely exhausted. I feel like the chronic illness part of me has really been kicking my ass endlessly for the better part of a year now. The brain fog and fatigue are so bad that a lot of times I don't even feel like a real person anymore. The pain part varies from day to day, but I can deal with that. I can push through it. But the exhaustion and fatigue, once that hits, there's no pushing through. Game over, time to lay down, close my eyes, and pretend that the insomnia part will allow me to actually give my body what it so desperately desires.

It's been... a while. A long while. But today, I'm working on The Surgeon, book one of the Bo Austen series.

As long as he's comfy 🐾💜

I wouldn't necessarily say I'm actually making progress, but sometimes, it's the trying that counts

To round out what was just a really shitty week, I fell *pretty* hard yesterday night after slipping on a pee pad. Landed on my hip and smacked my head on the corner of the wall. Apparently also skidded a little on my knee and elbow, as both have tile burn. My knee has the most bruised area, even though my hip/ass/thigh is definitely the most sore. My head hurts anytime I open my mouth to chew or yawn, and I think I must've hit my jaw too because that side is *so* tender and painful. I hurt my neck and shoulder when I fell too, likely from the whiplash type motion, but that feels better tonight, so that's... a plus. Aside from my head, my pain level actually isn't that much more than one of my bad flair ups. I guess chronic pain has one benefit 🥴

Today, we're getting back into the Carver-Baxter series again. Me, a little writing, a little MaltOMeal in my new Stitch mug, and a little Supernatural 💜

It's been two weeks since I held my sweet boy for the last time. Two weeks since I gave him his last bath. Two weeks since I cleaned the gunk out of his eyes and tried to syringe feed him one last time. It's been two weeks since I forced myself to go to sleep in preparation for his Rainbow Bridge appointment, two weeks since I woke up to find he'd passed shortly after I laid down.

I think it's time to finally get back into writing book one of the Carver-Baxter series.

An oldie but a goodie

It's been a bit since I've worked on anything in the romance sphere. I'm doing my best to focus solely on my newest crime novel (@everythingbook16). In the meantime, here's a snippet from Love Tends the Garden!

From a short I started a while back. It came to a dead end, but I'm hoping I can do something with it eventually

Title's a work in progress, but here's a little snippet from the short story I started yesterday. I'm hoping to finish it today, but we'll see how it goes. If nothing else, the goal is to put in at least another 1,000 words before the end of the night!

About Me

I’m Courtney, a twenty-two-year-old self-published author from an incredibly small town of only around 200 people. I first found my love for writing when I was much younger, only about five or six. Of course, back then, I was writing stories about talking unicorns and their mice friends rather than murder mysteries and paranormal novels.

To sum myself up in the easiest way: I’m a nocturnal being with a deep passion for writing, an unnatural obsession with research, and an extreme iced coffee addiction.
